Hachette Livre’s Business Development & Innovation department aims to identify new growth opportunities, provide support for the development and diversification projects of the group’s publishing houses throughout the world, and foster a culture of innovation and experimentation within the Hachette Group. As an international and transversal team, the Business Development & Innovation department gathers 5 people based in California and in France, of three different nationalities (French, American, Colombian).
In order to support its growth, the Business Development & Innovation department is looking to an end-of-studies intern to work closely with the Senior Project Manager US & UK to manage key projects in the US and UK businesses.
Coordinate US/UK Business Development and Innovation Projects alongside the Senior Project Manager US & UK:Create detailed briefs and clarify specific requirements for each project (Proof of Concept or Minimum Viable Product)
Prepare agendas for meetings with project owners, take and circulate minutes, and follow-up on action items
Help scale business development and innovation projects from the ideation to industrialization phase by coordinating with key stakeholders
Research solutions, partners, and outside parties for projects as needed: start-ups, UX designers, game developers, etc.
Monitor project progress and set and communicate deadlines
Inform Business Development and Innovation Department about innovation in the US and in the UKMonitor competitive watch
Suggest open innovation initiatives
Produce PowerPoint / Canva presentations about market and innovation trends
Take part in the running of the Business Development and Innovation DepartmentInterface with outside parties to prepare demo sessions, schedule meetings, and organize local and international field trips.
Coordinate in-person and online events, including organization of videoconferences and program events.
Draft internal communications related to innovation and business development
Support and optimize SharePoint resources
Coordinate with Director (California based), Deputy Director (Paris based), Project Manager France (Paris based) and Project Manager Spain & LATAM (Paris based)
Relevant education (Business schools, Engineering schools, University, Sciences Po…) with a focus on innovation management
Strong planning, organization, and execution skills.
Strong writing and communications skills; ability to present and condense complicated issues briefly and succinctly and to present them clearly.
Fluency in English required, strong written and oral skills in French preferred.
Ideal candidate is business-oriented, detail-oriented, and data-driven.
Range of software skills, including but not limited to: Teams, Word, Excel, PowerPoint
Strong teamwork mindset and an ability to maintain strict confidentiality.
Interest in new technologies and publishing appreciated.
This internship could lead to a permanent contract within the Business Development and Innovation team.
