Part-time Manager of The VII Foundation in Arles

Part-time contractor position

The VII Foundation is recruiting a manager for the Campus Alexandra Boulat, which is the headquarters of VII Academy France as well as of The VII Foundation’s European operations.
Location: 49 Quai de la Roquette, Arles, France.

The successful candidate will be responsible for running Campus Alexandra Boulat’s daily operations and implementing its short, mid, and long-term strategy defined by senior leadership for VII Academy France.

Chain of Command:

You will manage one full-time Office Assistant (Arles) and periodic interns.
You will communicate and work regularly with the larger team, which is spread across Europe and the USA.

Main Responsibilities:

With the support of the full-time Office Assistant, you will be responsible for the following:

  • Manage all operations in Campus Alexandra Boulat, the headquarters of VII Academy France, part of The VII Foundation ecosystem.
  • Be the VII Academy France’s main spokesperson.
  • Financials: Draft the VII Academy France yearly budget, follow the Realized vs. Budget on a monthly basis, and run the daily bookkeeping with our contracted French bookkeeping company (invoices, bills, etc.).
  • Admin: be responsible for all administrative tasks of running the Campus: maintenance contracts, insurance, etc.
  • HR: Manage one full-time Office Assistant and regular interns (lead, train and generally support their growth).
  • Student Affairs: Flawlessly manage logistics for welcoming students to Arles, organize activities, and generally provide them care (there is at least one yearly education program in Arles when we host 10-15 international students for a full month).
  • Curate workshop curriculums in French for the younger public aged Year 1 to High School.
  • Develop the local Arlesian network and organize regular events on campus throughout the year.
  • Organize the local database for our various openings, events etc.
  • Exhibitions: Help curate, produce, install regular exhibitions. Organize tours and visits, manage the mediation of our regular exhibitions.


Mandatory Requirements:

  • Fluency in written and spoken French and English.
  • Good translation skills in French/English.
  • Live in Arles and be fully integrated into the local Arlesian network.
  • You must work in person at Campus Alexandra Boulat, Arles, for 20 hours per week (ideally a half-day, 4 hours per day, 5 days a week).
  • Be comfortable with having flexible hours. Some periods are intense and require long days of work that carry into evenings.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Able to work autonomously as well as part of a team.
  • You have demonstrated experience working with a range of applications and software, including Slack, Asana, Zoom, WordPress, Mailchimp, AirTable, or similar.
  • Current driving license valid in France.


Appreciated skills:

  • Proven experience dealing with sensitive personal information.
  • Customer service experience.
  • Proficiency in the Creative Cloud Package or similar software.
  • Minimum bachelor’s degree or equivalent.


Fees:

420 Euros/week for a 20-hour-per-week contractor’s contract (‘prestataire de service’).
This is about 1,800 Euros per month.
Status: This contract mission is paid from the US, where The VII Foundation is registered.
Start date: 1 Sept 2024
End date: 30 Nov 2024
(Total mission payout = 3 months = approx. 5,500 Euros)
The intense period during this 2024 mission will run the full month of October, when we will host our international students.

If all goes well, this contract will be repeated again next year, from 15 Mar 2025 to 15 Nov 2025.
